What are the advantages of the landpreading of Biosolids ?

Landpreading of Biosolids on soils has several advantages :
  • High organic content (in average 50% of dry solid), biosolids have a proven fertilizing value in nitrogen and phosphorus and can replace chemical fertilizers, thus reducing crop production cost.
  • Biosolids treated with lime or those coming from paper mills have also high levels in calcium, which actively contributes to the regulation of pH and to the maintenance of a proper calcium balance in soils.
  • When composted, Biosolids are rich in humus.
